Safe Zone

Standing behind glass,
As the hours pass.
Time slips by,
My does it fly.
Young is old,
Healthy die.
Untouched am I.
Safe,
Alone,
Waving good-bye.
But, is it still living
If I’m petrified?

Selfless

His eyes pierced through me,

The grace He’d given so freely,

Made me feel empty,
                                                Guilty,
                                                                                    Care-free.

Forgiving Fate

“Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens,
And I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

To be freed from this weight,
Our final forgiving fate.

I am But am Not

Sleep,
            Let the world slip,
                        Give way,
                                    Move forward.

But then I’ll awake,
            Today will be gone,
                        All will be ahead.

Soon I’ll leave,
            Things’ll change,
                        The adventures begin.

When I’m there,
            I’m not here,
                        Where I’m needed,
                                    I am but am not.

And a Hope

“I know the thoughts
that I think toward you,”
says the Lord,
“thoughts of peace and not of evil,
to give you a future and a hope.”
                                                            Jeremiah 29:11

Where is that hope?

                                                                                                                        In you?

                                                In me?

                                                                        Under the sea?

Or spread through the galaxy?

                                                                                                I think it’s in He…
                                                                                                            The Christ,
                                                                                                                        Nailed to the tree.

Paths Undone

Wandering through paths undone,
            Looking for adventures young,

Living in a world you create,
            One with everything but hate,

For a quest,
            One of the best,

For the real surprise,
            Just open your eyes.

He Hears

Waves Crushing,
            Sandstorms howling,
                        Babies screaming,
                                    Women waling,

Tsunamis hitting,
            Tornadoes forming,
                        Children crying,
                                    Mothers sighing,

Time changing,
            Lights falling,
                        Darkness taking,
                                    Pulse pounding,

Through it all,
            The rise and fall,
                        He hears
                                    My prayer for you.

43% Single

Leading cliché lives,
            Until they die…

I guess being alone,
            Now seems justified.
